Vintage Bitossi Aldo Londi Buddha Head Ceramic Sculpture, Cinese Glaze | 1960s Italian Pottery

A stunning Bitossi Buddha head sculpture by Aldo Londi in the rare Cinese (Chinese) décor, produced in the 1960s. The Cinese glaze is one of Londi's most exotic and least commonly encountered finishes — pieces bearing this décor are genuinely scarce, particularly outside of Italy, making this an exceptional find for the dedicated collector.

Buddha heads are among the most sculptural and distinctive of all Bitossi forms, and in the Cinese décor this example is a particularly compelling object. These are simply not readily available in Europe — and rarely seen in the UK.
