A rare and highly collectible ceramic vase designed by Ettore Sottsass for Bitossi in the 1960s. Sottsass — later the founder of the Memphis Group and one of the most influential designers of the 20th century — produced a small but significant body of ceramic work for Bitossi during this period, predating the fame that would come to define his legacy.

Pieces bearing Sottsass's name command serious attention from both private collectors and design institutions worldwide. His Bitossi ceramics are increasingly recognised as an important and undervalued chapter in his output — and examples in perfect condition are genuinely scarce.

At 30cm, this Shape V222 example is a substantial and beautiful object in its own right, quite apart from its exceptional provenance.

Condition
Perfect — no chips, cracks or restoration. An exceptional opportunity for the serious design collector.
